About Woodland North Lavender Farm

Woodland North Lavender Farm sits on Highway 62, about 3 km north of Highway 7 at Madoc, on a property with a house built in 1888 that locals know as Happy Face Hill. Bonnie and Derek Moore planted their first 650 lavender plants in July 2021, and the farm now grows more than 1,800 plants in seven varieties, all without chemicals. The farm shoppe sells products made on the farm and by local artisans, including skincare and baking.

The fields and shoppe have closed for 2026 and reopen on June 5, 2027. Visitors can stay from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. unless they have booked a timed event. For 2027, field entry is $15 per person and includes a lavender drink, a lavender cookie and some lavender learning and sampling; children under 12 and seniors 65 and up pay $10, and children under 6 are free. The shoppe can be visited without paying for field entry.

There is a cut-your-own row, but ask Bonnie before you pick. Small bouquets are a $5 add-on, and larger ones are $10 to $15. The Lavender School teaches people to grow their own lavender in person, a virtual version resumes in June 2027, and a lavender tea and cookie workshop can come to your own event. Schools and child care groups can book lavender learning on or off the farm.

The Hidden Goldmine Bakery in Madoc is a few minutes south for a stop on the way in or out.

Tips for your visit

  • The driveway is easy to miss; if you pass it, turn at the next side road, not on the highway.
  • Keep dogs leashed and away from the plants, since lavender is toxic to pets.
  • Park only where signs say, and don't block the driveway.
  • The farm closes promptly at posted hours.
