About Violet Hill Lavender

Violet Hill Lavender is a 19-acre farm on County Road 8, east of Picton on the road toward Waupoos in Prince Edward County. Founders Nada and Mazin left engineering careers in Ottawa and Toronto and found this land in 2017; it overlooks a natural ravine and Lake Ontario, and the lavender field looks out over a neighboring vineyard. They grow several English and French lavender varieties organically, weed by hand and use natural methods instead of chemicals.

Because the cultivars flower at different times, there is lavender in bloom through much of the summer. The farm has closed for the 2026 season, so check their website and social pages for next year's opening schedule before you plan a trip.

Everything in the farm store is made in an on-site workshop with the farm's lavender and organic ingredients: small-batch body care, home products and culinary treats, along with essential oil, dried bundles and lavender buds. The products can also be ordered on their website through the off-season. The farm also offers a place to stay; details are on the stay page of their website.

County Cider Company in Waupoos is a short drive further east along the same shoreline, and downtown Picton is about 10 minutes west.
