About Fronterra Farm

Fronterra is a 58-acre regenerative flower and botanical farm on North Beach Road in Prince Edward County, on land that has been farmed for more than 160 years. Alongside seasonal flower fields, raised food gardens and a hop yard, the property keeps a stand of old-growth hardwood forest, and that is where the camp is.

Ten private, off-grid tent suites are spread about 30 meters apart in the trees, each themed to a different historical period, from a 1700s prospector tent to a 1980s sanctuary. Each has its own self-catering kitchen, a fire pit and a boardwalk to the water, with a dock on North Bay. North Beach Provincial Park is next door, about a 10-minute paddle, and Wellington is roughly 15 minutes by car. There is no standard electricity, and the forest paths are unlit, so a headlamp is useful.

Meals aren't provided; guests cook in their own kitchens, and vegetables from the camp garden are sold in summer. Besides overnight stays, the farm offers cut-your-own flower experiences, a farm stand and flower bar, group workshops focused on self-sufficiency skills, and garden gatherings. A restored 1860 log cabin serves as the supply cabin. Children are welcome but can't stay in the lakeside tents, and pets aren't allowed.

Prince Edward County Lavender in Hillier is about 10 minutes away, an easy morning outing from camp during the summer bloom.
