About Brasserie Albion – Sainte-Mélanie

Brasserie Albion has brewed in Lanaudière since 2010, with a focus on old, modern and forgotten beer styles, especially British ones. The lineup includes Albion, a bitter; Chiniquy, a mild ale; the 60 Shilling and 80 Shillings Scottish ales; Sir Gawain, an English-style session IPA; and Dùn Éideann, a Scotch ale. New England-style IPAs round out the list.

The Sainte-Mélanie brewery houses Le Salon, the tasting room. A flight of four 6-ounce beers costs $11.50 for regular beers, $13.50 for strong ones and $15.50 for extra-strong ones, a good way to compare a mild with a Scotch ale side by side. Pizzas are baked Neapolitan style in an Italian oven on site and served with salads and Quebec products. Children are welcome, and the room is aimed at relaxed outings with family or friends.

As of August 2026, Le Salon opens Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., closed Monday and Tuesday. Tables can be reserved through their website, and group brewery tours can be requested by email. The sister pub in Joliette, in a century-old building on boulevard Manseau, serves a fuller European-inspired menu and has a seasonal terrace.

Les Jardins de Lavande Arômes et Saveurs is also in Sainte-Mélanie, about 5 minutes away, so a lavender afternoon and pizza dinner make an easy pair.
