About Qui Sème Récolte
Qui Sème Récolte is an orchard and cider house on rang Saint-Guillaume in Saint-Jean-de-Matha, run by Nathalie and JF with a focus on farm visits. The orchard grows more than 53 apple varieties, and the cider house turns the fruit into a range of house ciders with names like Brut' Doux, Kir, Feu, Rosé, Houblon, Louis Cyr and Fermier.
Apple picking opens around August 20 and runs until about a week after Canadian Thanksgiving, Thursday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Varieties ripen one after another, and the orchard closes for the year once the ripe fruit is gone, so the end date shifts each fall. Entry is free; each family buys at least one bag, in 10 lb or 15 lb sizes, at the shop or outdoor kiosk before heading into the rows.
The orchard canteen opens on picking days and added a new donut format in 2026. The cider shop is open Thursday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., from maple season in spring through the holidays, with cider tastings any time except on the busiest picking days. The 2026 calendar included the orchard in bloom, tastings, early-evening gatherings and music and comedy shows. Picnic tables and umbrella tables are set out for families, and daycares and schools can book Thursday or Friday visits.
Les Jardins de Lavande Arômes et Saveurs in Sainte-Mélanie is about 12 minutes away; in late summer you can pick apples here and visit the lavender gardens on the same afternoon.
