About Ferme Le Crépuscule

Ferme Le Crépuscule is a 68-hectare organic farm on the Grande Rivière Nord road outside Yamachiche. Jean-Pierre Clavet settled here in 1989, the farm has operated since 1990, and it has been certified organic since 1992. It raises chickens, laying hens, beef cattle, veal and pigs on pasture and organic grain, without antibiotics or growth hormones, and it also makes maple syrup and grows a small market garden.

The best time for a visit is sugaring season. The sugar shack dining room opens on weekends from early March (the 2026 season began March 14) and returns in March and April 2027. Lunch is served at noon at shared tables, all you can eat and all certified organic: pea soup, baked beans, smoked ham, sausages, omelette, pancakes, buckwheat galette and eggs cooked in syrup. Maple taffy on snow follows around 3:30 p.m., and guests can tour the farm, buy products and walk the forest trails.

The rest of the year the farm sells mostly by online order, with pickup at the farm or at drop-off points across Quebec. They ask that you call or message before coming to the farm, and farm pickups are set by appointment.

Passion Lavande in Saint-Sévère is about 15 minutes away. In spring the lavender fields are bare, but its shop is open year-round, so a sugar shack lunch can be paired with a stop there.

What to do

  • Reserve the organic sugar shack lunch on a March or April weekend
  • Taste maple taffy on snow in the afternoon
  • Walk the forest trails after lunch (wear warm boots)
