About Annabelle Acres Vineyard & Winery

Annabelle Acres is a family vineyard about ten minutes east of Hart, run by Dennis and Debbie with their grown children and grandchildren pitching in at the tasting bar, on the bottling line and around the grounds. The name comes from the Annabelle hydrangea. The vineyard has grown over the last several years and focuses on cold-climate grapes bred for Michigan winters, including Itasca, Aromella, Petite Pearl, Marquette, Verona and the Frontenacs, along with older Catawba and Concord vines and some Cabernet Franc.

Every wine is crushed, fermented, aged and bottled on the farm in small batches, and the list runs from dry to sweet: reds, whites, rosé, fruit wines and a wine made with maple syrup. At the 2025 National Small Producer Wine Invitational, the Itasca White and Cabernet Franc won silver medals, and the Frontenac Rosé and a blend called Conspiracy of Ravens took bronze. The winery also brews two rotating beers and makes hard cider.

The winery's café and coffee house serves dips and boards, Bavarian pretzels with beer cheese, cheesy bread, scratch soups in the cooler months, and muffins and scones on many Saturdays, plus cold brew coffee flights in summer and hot coffee and hot chocolate flights when it turns cold. The patio faces south across a pond and the vines, and visitors often spot herons, sandhill cranes and deer, and now and then a bald eagle. The family also books private events and private picnics in the vineyard.

Cherry Point Farm & Market near Shelby is about 25 minutes southwest. Walk its lavender labyrinth in mid to late July, then drive up for an afternoon on the Annabelle patio.
