About Pleasant Valley Farm & Vineyard

Pleasant Valley Farm & Vineyard is a family farm near Hart that makes its wine only from grapes it grows, with no imported juice or flavorings. The vineyard leans on varieties suited to west-central Michigan: Marquette and Petite Pearl for dry reds, some aged on French oak, Chambourcin for a slightly sweet red, and Itasca and Vidal Blanc for whites. The blends are named Red Trillium, from Marquette and Petite Pearl, and White Trillium, from Riesling and Seyval Blanc, and there is a blueberry wine and a dry red house blend.

The farm opens for the summer and early fall. In 2026 the tasting room ran Wednesday through Sunday afternoons from early June into October, with free live music on Friday and Saturday evenings from 4 to 7, a different food truck most Fridays, and hour-long wine and yoga classes on many Wednesday evenings for $25 (bring your own mat). On Saturday afternoons the farm sells its own 10-inch pizzas while they last, and there are charcuterie boxes, pretzel bites and chips with salsa the rest of the time. Two hard ciders made from Michigan apples, one with blueberries, are poured by the glass.

Besides wine, the family sells homemade fudge and maple syrup. The farm describes itself as family friendly, and leashed pets are welcome. Private parties can be booked by email during business hours. The wines are also sold at the Pentwater farmers market.

Cherry Point Farm & Market near Shelby is about 20 minutes south. In mid to late July, walk its lavender labyrinth and herb garden, then spend a Friday evening here with music and a food truck.
